OSDC Australia 2005

The second Open Source Developers' Conference was a collaborative affair by the Melbourne Perl Mongers, Melbourne PHP Users Group and Python programmers. It ran on the 5th- 7th December 2005. Talks included the safety of Perl’s Safe.pm, rapid game development in Python, using PHP for unorthodox applications and utilizing Java’s Groovy in your next application. Other topics covered were conference skills, database integration, digital forensics, Gumstix and Nagios.

Keynote speakers included Autrijus Tang, Jonathan Oxer, Richard Farnsworth (from the Australian Synchrotron), Anthony Baxter and Savio Saldanha.

Attendance was approximately 130.
