OSDC Australia 2006
The third Open Source Developers' Conference ran on the 5th - 8th December 2006. For the first time, it included a day of tutorials at the start. Talks included migrating applications from Windows to Unix using Mono, data warehousing, J2EE, enterprise PHP, Obfuscated Perl and a Rails/Django comparison. Other topics included human interaction, making mistakes, regular expressions and a history of FOSS.
Keynote speakers included Damian Conway, Randal Schwartz, Richard Farnsworth, Anthony Baxter and Scott Penrose.
The conference was the biggest it had ever been with approximately 190 attendees.
